Jewellery Sale

Just popping in to let you know that we've listed a bunch of wooden jewels in the Etsy shop and they're all on sale. It's almost the school holidays here and to celebrate living through my first term at my new job I hope to work on some new pieces. Or binge watch Pretty Little Liars for two weeks.

I do hope to get back to this space sometime soon, once I've caught my breath a bit. If you're interested, you can check out what my class is doing over at our class blog and student blog roll. The fact that I have students blogging about cat videos, Angela Davis and Rookie might be my proudest teaching moment yet!

Autumnal Equinox

Autumn is a second spring when every leaf is a flower.
- Camus

As we say goodbye to the sun and celebrate the coming months, wishing for rain as the earth is pretty parched here at the moment, we wanted to share it with you by having a farewell to summer sale. We're working on a small winter collection and so if you head over to the shop now you can enter 'EQUINOX' at the checkout for 35% off all jewellery.

I love the feeling of a season change and I hope there is lots of good stuff in store for us all as the leaves fall, or flowers bloom depending on where you are. We're up in Auckland at the moment and I'm hoping to be enjoying one of these very soon.

Darling Heart Sale!

I've updated the vintage shop with some new goodies, priced to sell! And as it's time to ring in the New Year, you can enter 'NYE2010' to get a further 25% off everything in stock. Have at it!

Proper reflective and resolution-y New Years post to come, promise.

Holiday Weekend Sale!

Thanks so much for all your comments and notes about my previous post. It's funny, I had such a personal response to that passage and my time at the wedding that I didn't realise how much it would impact others, but I'm so glad it did! I need to print those verses out and display them somewhere in our apartment, all motivational saying like.

For those of you in the States, I hope you're enjoying your holiday weekend. I for one am having a hard time hearing all about the amazing food being consumed, I am definitely going to break down and bake a few pies this weekend! Partially to celebrate the holiday weekend and the beginning of the holiday season, but also to say a big thank you to everyone who reads this blog and supports our wee shop, we're having a sale! Etsy now has coupon codes (v. exciting!), so all you need to do is enter 'THANKS' at the checkout to get 15% off your order from now until Monday evening.

I hope everyone has a lovely weekend, too. We'll be living the craft fair/holiday season hermit life, but I hope to get out and about just a little bit!

Bits and pieces;

- Fieldguided and Sonja Ahlers collaborate on The Mini Meow. Such a perfect pairing of very talented people!
- Eastside Culture Crawl is on this weekend for local folks, I hope to make it out to some of the galleries in our neighbourhood and check out some art.
- Staying independent for the holiday season, I love this post over at Door Sixteen.

Sale!

In preparation for our shop update next week we're having a big sale! We're hoping to clear out some inventory so we can switch things up and make room for new stuff, so now is the time to buy up big people, it is not too early for Christmas shopping y'know. Speaking of early Christmas shopping, be sure to check out the new Poppytalk Handmade Market launched this week - its fantastic as usual and we're so happy to be a part of it!

Have a great weekend friends, it's meant to be hot and sunny here which is...crazy, considering that today is October (also crazy). See you Monday!

Shop Update & Spring Cleanin'

At long last, a shop update! Four new embroidery hoop clocks made from some of my favourite fabrics yet, and a bunch of new wooden bookmarks are now available in the shop. As always, all our bookmark images are taken from collected vintage paper ephemera (and most often a very old encyclopedia from the 1800's), and you can now choose from a gramophone, a typewriter, a bee, a music stand and some floral ornamentation (not sure what to call this, suggestions?) that is used to break up chapters in said encyclopedia. We've also been finding some really beautiful veneer lately, which I've been meaning to photograph to show you on here so perhaps I'll get to that today. I'm a sucker for wood grain.

Because Spring is coming, and because we have some new products in the works I've also created a new sale section where everything has been marked down by 25%! I most likely won't be re-listing these items once they've sold, unless someone is completely heartbroken that they missed out! Plus, for an extra treat there will be free shipping for all you lovely readers on everything in that section from now until the end of the month (Sunday Feb 28th, midnight PST). Simply enter the code 'Spring Cleaning' at the checkout and I will send you a revised receipt!

Boxing Weekend-ish Sale

We're having a sale! A boxing weekend-ish one, as I'm on holiday until Tuesday and feeling rather merry about it all. Richard and I couldn't decide what kind of promotion to do, so we decided to go ahead and do the two you see up there. All you have to do is leave us a message in the notes to seller as to what bookmark you'd like, or wait for a revised invoice if free shipping is more to your liking.

Happy Shopping!

p.s. I just checked in at random.org to draw the winner of the Gift Certificate and it was comment number five. That's you, Erin!

Cyber Monday Sale!

I had no idea what Black Friday or Cyber Monday was until recently, but I do love a reason to celebrate and give a bit of a treat to all you out there who support us! For my fellow non-North Americans, Black Friday is the crazy sale day after the US Thanksgiving and people line up at 3am for $1 computers from Best Buy. Cyber Monday is the following Monday when all the online stores have their crazy sales once people are back at work....or secretly shopping online (thanks to Lili educating me in the ways of crazy sales days). So, up until midnight tonight everything in our store has been marked down by 15%! Also, because I love you readers so, I am offering free worldwide shipping to you all for the day! The sale prices have already been marked, so all you have to do to take advantage of the free shipping is to enter the code "Cyber Monday Bliss" and I will send you an updated invoice (note: do not pay when etsy prompts you to, but wait for the new invoice instead. If you forget, not to worry, I'll just reimburse you!)

Happy shopping, lovelies!

Happy Birthday Queen Victoria

Goodness, she looks serious. Really, it is her birthday so perhaps we could've gotten a bit of a smile? Anyway, we've decided to celebrate (the long weekend also..) by having a wee sale over at the shop. We've taken $5 off our embroidery hoop chalkboards, one of which is featured in the Graduation Gifts gift guide!

We've also adjusted the shipping costs on our Writing Slates, as apparently I'd done some crazy calculating and they were listed at about double the real costs! So sorry!

Enjoy your weekend!
