Thankful

I have been totally swept away by Caroline's photos of Iceland ever since she returned earlier in the year. The drama and colour of these are incredible, and have only confirmed my desire to visit the country! I'm hoping she'll set up a wee shop someday soon so that I can hang some of these prints permanently on my wall. I was chatting to Caroline yesterday to get permission to post these here, and I'm so glad I did (aside from the fact that she is great and I can't wait to hang out in Montreal with her in a few short weeks!) because these were the perfect images to look through today while stuck in bed after a short hospital stay last night. Nothing too serious, but while I'm feeling pretty rough and sorry for myself in bed today I can dream of escape from my bed while I listen to Ursula snoring away underneath it. 
Happy weekend friends, it's Thanksgiving here and today I am thankful for lovely, caring friends who drive you to emergency in the middle of the night, a husband who brings me cereal and the laptop to watch Project Runway in bed and cooler days so that I can stay under quilts all day.

Keeping busy.

Hello! Just a quick message to say thank you so much for all your lovely comments on my last post, I really enjoyed hearing from you and it has motivated me both in my quest to be more body positive in my own life but also to bring lots of it here to the blog. I actually want to respond to each of you individually and hope to get to that really son, which brings me to my next point of why things have been a little thin here this week. We have a number of wholesale orders that need our attention, and a market coming up on Sunday, plus I've recently started a new job with Vancouvermom.ca working as an editorial assistant and researcher this week so I've been wrapping my head around all that comes with that. I promise to be back next week when I can come up for air a bit with much more regular posts, that is the goal!

Do you ever find yourself so busy that all you want to do is escape it? I must admit that I'm feeling a little like that at the moment. The idea of curling up with a book is so appealing when there is html to be figured out or bookmarks to be sanded!

Seaside

When you're sitting in your pajamas on a Sunday morning* eating pancakes with a day ahead of you full of laundry and housework, and your friend has asked you to take a Sunday drive with her to the seaside, the very best thing to do is get yourself dressed and over there as quickly as you can. Because can I tell you, a day of eating veggie burgers and a giant serving of chips, walking down a long pier, smelling saltwater, studying sand patterns, raspberry sherbet in a waffle cone and feeling just chapped and windswept enough, all with two favourite people and lots of laughs? Well, there's little better. The laundry can wait, you know?

I've been dreaming a lot of vacationing lately, trying to make an effort to get out of the city a little more, even just as a day trip. Or even finding more pockets in the city where I can escape a little. Unfortunately the weather at the moment has made me want to do nothing more than stay in bed or under quilts on the couch! Not that it would be much warmer where these photos were taken, but that icey blue and open, empty expanse are totally fueling my desire to...just go! For now I'll just dream and get lost in the rest of coquinete's incredible photo stream.
